If you are employed in most countries, you and your employer are required to pay a mandatory amount to government assisted hospitalization insurance (Medicare). This will help employees in times of emergencies. But because of the meager amount, sometimes it is not enough to pay for the hospital bills.

So, it is always best to get an additional Medicare supplement insurance. By doing so, you will probably pay less or sometimes none in your hospital bills.
